Office Closings

2010 Juno Awards

Owen Clark - Jazz Winnipeg's Manitoba Jazz Musician of the Year

Congratulations to Owen Clark. Owen is the recipient of Jazz Winnipeg's 2009 Manitoba Jazz Musician of the Year Award.

2009 Western Canadian Music Awards

Congratulations to Eagle & Hawk, Steve Bell, Doc Walker, The Waking Eyes, Romi Mayes, James Ehnes and Shawn Pierce on receiving WCMA awards.

2009 Canadian Country Music Awards

Congratulations to Doc Walker and Murray Pulver on their successes at this year's awards!

2009 Golf Tournament

The musicians' tournament was held late in August. Unfortunately, this was the last Musicians' Tournament that Jim Humpage organized. Jim passed away in December, 2009. The tournament was held at John Blumberg Golf Club. Dinner and prizes followed at the Wok House. Congratulations to John Miller on winning the President's Trophy, Larry Roy on winning the Olds Trophy and Margaret Birkett on winning the Ladies Champion Trophy.

Jimmy King Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Fund is now accepting applications for the 2010 Jimmy King Memorial Fund Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00. Contact the Winnipeg Musicians' Association office for an application.

2009's recipient of the Jimmy King Memorial Fund Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00 was Jacob Herd. Congratulations Jacob!

The Office is the Trustee for the Fund and tax deductible donations can be made at anytime throughout the year.

Each year one scholarship is awarded to a young jazz musician who meets the criteria and is then selected by a panel of judges.
